The major mental obstacle to financial success is that some people believe that they don’t really deserve to be rich.

THE BIGGEST DEMOTIVATOR OF ALL

They have been raised with a steady drumbeat of destructive criticism, as I was, that has led them to conclude, at an unconscious level that they don’t really deserve to be successful and happy. The worst effect of negative experiences in childhood, which are all too common, is that when people actually do succeed as the result of hard,  they feel guilty. These guilt feelings then cause them to do things to get rid of the money, to throw it away. They spend it or invest it foolishly. They lend it, lose it or give it away. They engage in self-sabotage, in the form of overeating, excessive drinking, drug usage, and marital infidelity and often dramatic personality changes. To change your results with money, you have to change your attitude toward it.

TREAT MONEY WITH CARE AD ATTENTION

The fact is that money is very much like a lover. It must be courted and coaxed and flattered and treated with care and attention. It gravitates toward people who respect it and value it and are capable of doing worthwhile things with it. It flows through the fingers and flees from people who do not understand it, or who not take proper care of it.

BECOME SKILLED WITH MONEY

Sometimes people say that they are not very good with money. But being good with money is a skill that anyone can learn through practice. Usually, saying that one is not very good with money is merely an excuse or a rationalization for the fact that the person is not very successful or disciplined with money. The person has not learned how to acquire it or to hold on to it.

BE A NO-LIMIT THINKER

The starting point of accumulating money is for you to believe that you have an unlimited capacity to obtain all the money that you will ever need. Look upon yourself as a financial success just waiting for a place to happen. And see yourself as deserving all you can honestly acquire.

OPEN ANY DOOR

Money is good. Money gives you choices and enables you to live your life the way you want to live it. Money opens doors for you that would have been closed in its absence. But just like anything, an obsession can be hurtful. If a person becomes so preoccupied with money that he loses sight of the fact that money is merely a tool that is to be used to acquire happiness, then money becomes a harmful thing.

MONEY IS NEUTRAL

The Bible says, “The love of money is the root of all evil.” It doesn’t say, “Money is the root of all evil.” It says, “The love of money is the root of all evil.” It is the preoccupation with money, to the exclusion to of the really important things in life that is the problem, not the money itself. Money is essential to our lives in society. It is also neutral. It is neither good nor bad. It is only the way that it is acquired and the uses to which it is put that determines whether it is helpful or hurtful.

ACTION EXERCISES

First, recognize and accept that virtually everyone who has money today at one time was broke and probably broke for a long time. Then they learned the skills of accumulating money and they are now financially independent. Whatever they have done, you can probably do as well.

Second, become a student of money from this day forward. Study it, learn about it and apply the lessons you discover toward your own financial life until you begin to attract more and more money in your direction.

Hi, I’m Keith Abell, a pharmacist and owner of Abell International Marketing. I would like to take a moment to introduce myself.

My first exposure to the home based business industry was back in 1985.

Like today, the economic climate was not good. Home mortgage rates were approaching 20%; unemployment was high. The manufacturing segment was getting hit especially hard. The homeless situation was dire and dominated the news reports.

In fact I lost my own job in the telecommunications industry. I still thank God that I had joined a Network Marketing company a few months earlier. It kept food on the table and a roof over our head.

You see, I had joined Art Williams in his company, A L William. Art had a simple philosophy back then, “Buy term insurance and invest the difference.” It was simple, as he said it was “Common Sense.” An easy way for the average person to understand how to protect their family and save for their future security. I was able to take what I learned and eventually start my own financial services business, helping people save money and build financial security.

Later I changed my own career path when I had the opportunity to pursue a degree in the healthcare industry. I found a way through pharmacy to help people improve their health and well-being through medication therapies as well as lifestyle changes using natural approaches to health and well-being. Just like I enjoyed helping people improve their financial situation in the financial services industry. I also enjoyed teaching people how to live longer, healthier lives.

I have been through a lot over the years. I have had some victories and made some mistakes along the way.

At one point I discovered Dave Ramsey and the Financial Peace University. My wife and I graduated from that program and finally found financial peace as one by one we eliminated our debt.

Later I began to see and feel that the economy was about to make a drastic change. I realized that housing prices could not continue to rapidly rise.

I also feared that the healthcare industry was out of control. Newer and more expensive drug treatments were constantly being released to the public. None of which actually cured anything, they only treated symptoms and caused other conditions that had to be treated with more medications. While, as a pharmacist, I felt relatively secure with my career, both situations concerned me.

I remember those days with A. L. Williams and how much I enjoyed helping people with their financial situation. I looked back on what I learned from Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University. I remembered a
book I read by Robert Kiosaki were he stressed diversifying ones income sources just like we diversify our investments. I reflected on how much I enjoyed helping people improve their health so I began looking around at other opportunities.

I wanted something that I could do that utilized all of my life experiences to help people become financially secure and healthier at the same time. I knew I wanted to get back into the Network Marketing business.

At first I began exploring companies that specifically were involved in health and wellness so I could blend my marketing skills with my interest in healthcare. I realized however that even though a significant percentage of the population had an interest in health and wellness they were more concerned with ways to improve their financial situation through their own home based business so I began exploring other avenues as well.

That brings me to today. I founded Abell International Marketing and I have assembled a team of Network Marketing leaders, the AIM High Team. I have members on my team that come from all areas of this industry. We are here to help people just like you find the right home based business to fit your personality, interests and needs. I realize that the one size fits all approach does not work.
