Reaching Your Highest Potential – Post 348

We started the other day talking about the law of attraction. Today I want to continue with that theme and talk a little bit about reaching your highest potential.

We all have these grand dreams of what we want our lives to be. We know that we can achieve whatever it is that we want. So why is it that most of us will never achieve our highest potential?

It’s because we allow the doubts, the fears, and the discouraging things people have said to us convince us to settle where we are. Those negative voices inside us speak to us the loudest.

The truth is that we were all created to succeed. We were all created to achieve greatness; to accomplish our goals; to leave a mark on this generation. The key is to set that greatness free; to overcome all the negative thoughts and become all that we can be.

No matter where you are or what challenges you are facing you have what it takes to win. You are talented enough. You are smart enough. You are experienced enough. You have the right personality, the right looks, the right race, sex or nationality. You are fully equipped to become all you can. You are the right man or woman for the challenge.

You may not be reaching your highest potential, not because you don’t have the faith, the talent, or the determination but because you are not keeping the right things in front of you.

Let me tell you a story about a guy that dreamed of being an actor someday. As he was growing up his family was so poor that at one point they were homeless. As he got older he kept on auditioning and trying out for different parts but he just wasn’t getting any offers. He wasn’t getting the big parts he wanted. He was broke and discouraged so he drove his beat up old car to the top of a hill overlooking the city and did something unusual. He wrote himself a big check for 10 million dollars for “Acting Services Rendered”. He put that check in his wallet and kept it there. When things would get tough he would pull that check out and look at it to remind himself of his dream. A dozen years later he finally had the breakthrough that he dreamt about. You know him today because of wild success. That actor was Jim Carey.

The point is that we tend to gravitate toward that which we think about most. Think about this. No matter what social – economic background you come from you can find examples of people that have succeeded. You can find people from the worst backgrounds, the worst situations growing up that not only succeeded but had wild success. I can think of people like Les Brown, Opra Winfrey, Dr Ben Carson. And you can find people that had it all, that were born with a silver spoon in their mouth and went on to become absolute failures. I won’t name those but we can all think of people that descend to failure like that.

Ever ponder what the difference was between those failures and success?

Studies tell us that we move toward what we consistently see. So to reach the highest potential for success we must keep something in front of us, even if it symbolic like Jim Carey’s check, to remind us of what we believe we can achieve.

When we don’t have anything that reminds us of what we are dreaming of, we get stuck and lose our passion. Proverbs says “Where there is no vision, the people parish,” The naysayers come along on and nick away at our dream, our enthusiasm until one day we find ourselves stuck in a rut. We’ve forgotten what it was that we wanted and start shrinking our dreams down to fit in with our current circumstances. The successful people always have that dream, that goal in front of them so they can push the naysayers aside and push forward toward their goals.

James Allen said “Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall you become. Your vision is the promise of what you shall one day be. James Mark Baldwin said, “Fires can’t be made with embers, not can enthusiasm be stirred by spiritless men Enthusiasm in our daily work lightens effort and turns even labor into pleasant tasks.”

I want you to think about what it is that you can put in front of you to keep you on track. What you can do throughout that day to remind yourselves of your destination. Keep your vision in front of you. All over your house, your office, your car, you should have pictures that inspire you. Scripture verses that encourage you. Mementoes that strengthen your faith. Every time you see that reminder of your dream say under your breath, Thank you Lord for bringing my dreams to pass. Thank you that I will become everything that you created me to be. Every time something comes along and try’s to chip away at your enthusiasm look at that reminder and tell yourself that you will achieve whatever it is that you set out to achieve.

Catch Up Time – Post 346

I can’t believe I haven’t posted a blog since April. Things have been busy but I can’t believe it has been that busy. I know that in April and May I was busy with some very intensive training programs and then in June I spent a lot of time traveling to both coasts. A combination of Business and pleasure. I’ve got so much to share with you so I will try to do much better keeping up with these blogs.

As I was driving from Monterrey California to Reno Nevada a couple weeks ago I kept thinking about the law of attraction and the role this universal law has played in my life. As I have shared with you guys before, I am a Christian so for me the law of attraction is biblically based. I believe that God is the universal force. I’m not going to get into a theological discussion here so you can put your defenses down. I just wanted to give you a brief background about my prospective.

I went to California for two reasons. I wanted to spend some time with my son who is stationed there in the Navy. We haven’t been able to see each other since he graduated boot camp last winter. I also was hoping to have a chance to spend a day or two with Cory Gold. 

 


Before I left for the trip some things happened to prevent Cory and me from getting together but, while I was disappointed, it didn’t stop me from going. I really wasn’t sure what was going to happen on the business side of the trip but I was trusting that things would work out and make that part of the trip worthwhile. I knew that the right circumstances and the right people would show up so I was excited about the trip. 


A few years ago I had been a guest on KSCO radio out of Santa Cruz. Since Santa Cruz is close to where my son is stationed I decided to stop by the station on Saturday to meet the owner in person for the first time. I ended up spending 2 hours with him talking about the radio business and talking about the home business I am in and how to take things to the next level. 

Just to show you how this law of attraction works; while I was there I met Pharmacist Ben Fuchs. He is another radio personality that has a daily show on stations all across the country. He actually lives in Colorado and was there for a seminar that he was speaking at later in the day. Well Ben invited me to come to the seminar so I did just that. 

Well while I was at the seminar I met several other folks that I had talked to on occasion but never met. I found out that they were fans of my blog and had attended many of my webinars. These folks were excited to finally get to meet me in person. It was a really humbling experience. 

I also met Phyllis and Andy Anderson at this event. Up to that point I had never heard of them but it turned out that they were multi-million dollar earners in this business and they invited me and my son out to dinner after the seminar. We ended up talking for hours about exactly what it was that they did to earn their income, giving me some incredible advice on how to take my business to that next level. A lot of information that I am implementing in my own business as we speak. 

They also really stressed the role that the law of attraction played in their lives. 

I wanted to share with you folks some of the things that I have learned from the Andersons and from other people regarding the Law of Attraction and how to put it to work for yourself.

Now I warn the more devout Christians among you that the video is a little, actually a lot on the new age side of things but if you really think about it you can find a lot of biblical parallels. Week 20 – Let Go and Let God – Post 330

Let Go and Let God

I am a big proponent to the “law of attraction.” I have personallyletgo seen this universal law manifest itself in my life. Being a Christian, I believe that God is the center of the universe and everything comes from God and the Law of Attraction is God at work in our life. In my own personal life I can look back throughout the past a see just how this Law has affected my life in every way without me even being aware of it.

There have been numerous times that I have gone through some very challenging times. In each and every one of those times I gave the problem to God. I prayed, read scripture, contemplated. And in every instance the answers came to me and I followed them. This MKMMA journey has been no different. In fact this MKMMA journey has made me even more aware of the ways that God has influenced my life. Through MKMMA and a more focused awareness of the law of attraction the phrase “Let Go and Let God” has taken on a new meaning.

I’ve heard people throughout my life claim that they gave their problems to God and nothing happened. Because of this they now have doubt about the very existence of a higher power. They even ask, ‘if God really did care, then why does he answer some people’s prayers and not others? I asked and I trusted but nothing happened for me?’

I never really had an answer. Why did it seem that God answered some people’s prayers? Why didn’t He answer others? We see people like Joel Osteen; he gets up there every day and talks about God answering. He talks all the time about great things happening to people when they give it to God. I saw the same things but I could never answer the WHY?

Well my first clue as to “why” came a couple years ago when I came across a movie called, “the secret.” Now the movie tends to be a little too much on the “new age” side for my sensibilities but as a Christian I really connected to what was said in the movie on a more spiritual level.

It talked about putting out there, into the universe, what it is that you want to attract into your life. I found this concept so fascinating as it relates to prayer and asking God because as I mentioned before I could look back in my past and see instance after instance where I put forth a desire and over time, all the pieces necessary to make it a reality came into my life. I started exploring why this seemed to work for me in the past and what I discovered was there is just a little more involved in the process than just asking.

I could see many times in my past when I asked and nothing happened. I started looking at what it was exactly that I did that was different when things worked out compared to the times in my life when I did not have success.

We have all heard the scripture that says, ask and you shall receive, but have you looked a little further in the scripture. In every instance when someone asked and received there was another step involved. What was that extra step?

In every instance the person took an action. They believed enough in the fact that they would receive they took an action toward receipt of what they asked for. They Let Go and Let God then acted as if God had already answered them moving themselves toward that goal. Think about it, every time someone came to Christ and asked for a healing what was Christ’s response? He told them to go do something, take an action, take a leap of faith, show they believed by taking an action and then they were healed.

For example he told the leapers to go down to the river and wash themselves and they were healed. He could have just healed them without them taking the action. But he gave them instructions to follow and then when they took that action they received what they asked for. The same thing has happened in my life so many times I can’t even count.

When I lost my job at the end of 2011 God had already put into action the path for me to follow to replace that income. The problem was is that I was not ready to Let Go and Let God. I had forgotten what I had learned throughout my life. Yes I was praying for help but I wasn’t listening, letting go and following His lead. I was following my own lead. Doing what I thought was the right thing. I wasn’t really believing and trusting that things would turn around. I resisted the path God was laying out in front of me. In fact I couldn’t even see the path because I was stuck on the idea that I had to get another full time pharmacist job. I didn’t even see that he was giving me the tools and the opportunity to pursue a different path full time. A path that had I paid more attention I may have never had to return to pharmacy.

Looking back now I see that God had brought so many people into my life during those two years of unemployment that had I followed my life would be totally different now. Over that two year time frame God brought many of the top leaders in my network marketing company into my life. He even allowed me to have the opportunity to travel with the founder of the company not once, not twice but on five different occasions. God had in mind a new direction for me and I just couldn’t see it. It’s true in the back of my mind I wanted to move away from pharmacy. I had been praying for years for God to show me a new direction but I wasn’t willing to listen and let God.

I laid my concerns at God’s feet. I knew and expected that God would bring the right people into my life and I didn’t see it. I knew I had to be willing to be open and follow his lead, but worry had consumed me and I did not see Him in front of me. Two years later I found myself back where I was before I lost the job. Back working 70 to 80 hours per week in pharmacy.

God put the movie “The Secret” in my path. He knew spiritually that I was ready for the message even though the movie was not a Christ centered message. He knew in my religious formation that I would see this movie in context of my Christian background. He knew that my intellectual side would pursue this idea further and look at how this principle applied to my walk with him.

The story hadn’t ended there. There is another part of the formula that I had not fully focused on at least not until MKMMA entered my life. Yes I did recognize I had an opportunity in network marketing because I was open and wanted more our of my life but I still had not developed a keen awareness of my surroundings. God wasn’t finished yet.

Remember I was praying to find a way to replace my income. That I was burned out and unsatisfied with where I was in my life; my career path wasn’t fulfilling a deeper meaning, a deeper purpose.

A big part of the Law of Attraction’s success come from taking some action toward what it was that you wanted but there is another part of the formula. I had to develop a more intense awareness of the things that were around me. The tools, the opportunities, the people that were there and have been there all along that I just did not see because I was so focused on taking care of needs. I could never even began to think about the deeper, more intimate desires for my life.

For the past three years I have been so restless. Things in life just seemed so out of whack. Yes I lost my job and then found another thanks to God but it did not feel fulfilled. Something was just missing. Call it mid-life crisis, burn out or whatever you like to call it but life just did not seem to have a meaning any longer. I knew I should be thankful for where I am in life and for all that I had accomplished but where I am and where I thought I would be by now just didn’t match up. My restlessness had become all consuming.

I had found what I believed to be a way to rectify this restless feeling. I knew that network marketing held the answer for me because it could give me the time freedom and financial freedom that I needed. But how do I switch from being a successful pharmacist working for someone elses dreams to becoming an entrepreneur pursuing what I wanted out of life.

To be successful in this new endeavor I needed to develop a new set of skills. It took 5+ years in college to become a pharmacist so I new it was going to take a little time to have the same success so I began taking classes and reading everything I could get my hands on in the way of coaching and personal development. On this quest I met many fantastic people, some virtually through books and on-line, others in person. I consider them mentors.

Last year on this journey I came across a network marketing trainer, Mark Janeszuski. His training systems and videos gave me insights into this business that I had never even considered. He made me start considering the other person. What did the prospect think. What they thought about me; what they though about themselves; what they thought about my opportunity and how I could build better rapport with the prospect.

It was in this training that I finally began to look inward at myself and what I thought about me. What I had been thinking and how I have been holding myself back from success. I began to realize that I determined my own success and failure more than the action of the other people around me. That’s how I became aware of the MKMMA program; actually more of a self-discovery, self-awareness program.

It has been through this program that I have developed a deeper relationship with my God because through this program I have become more keenly aware of myself; the various universal laws and how they affect me. And the Law of Attraction is just one of those universal, God given laws.

The point is folks, set some goals. Not just some goals but think outside the box. Look deeply into yourself and at what you really want to accomplish in life? I’m not talking about the material things that you want. Those will come as you achieve the deeper more meaningful goals for your life. For myself it boils down that I want to achieve autonomy and liberty. That is I want to be able to be personally responsible for my accomplishments or failures. I don’t want others to tell me yes I can do something or no I can’t. I want the freedom to be my own boss; to achieve at my own pace and to help as many others as possible realize their inner most desires for their life.

Once you determine the deeper more meaningful desires of your life start thinking about what you need to do, what people and what tools need to be brought into your life to accomplish those goals. Start working toward attracting those things into your life, paying close attention to the things that come your way and start taking actions, no matter how small they are that will put you on that path.

While you start following that path, relax, let go and let God. Trust in the direction you go and keep your mind open to the possibilities of change then be conscious to the people and circumstances that come into your life. Just because something that happens doesn’s seem to be the right circumstance, be open and take a deeper look at whatever it is.

You will be amazed at what happens. It’s kind of like when you buy a new car or maybe a new pair of boots or something. Once you buy it you suddenly see other people all around you that have the same thing. They have been there all along you just never noticed. The same thing happens once you Let Go and Let God and you open up your mind to be conscious to the people and circumstances around you that can help you move in the direction of your deeper major purpose of life. Some have been there all along God will bring the rest to you if you trust.

Week 13 – Why some have success while others don’t – Post 317

Why do some people have success while others don’t?SuccessFailure

Do successful people possess some supernatural powers that others of us don’t have? Not really. From a scientific view point we are all basically the same. We have all come the same basic building blocks of life and we all share the same primordial DNA. Yes we all have different abilities, traits, talents. Some of us are physically stronger, others have finely tuned critical thinking skills, while others excel in the arts. But successful people can be found within these various groups.

Does success therefore come from Divine Intervention. We all know people that live their entire life for God but never seem to get a break. And we know of people that are pure evil yet still seem successful. I just don’t see an all knowing, all loving God being that unfair. Why even try if you have no control of the outcome. Instead I believe God put us all hear and gave us all the basic laws of the Universe. It is how we use those laws that determine our success.

Maybe some people have success while others don’t because that’s just the way it is. No sense trying to figure it out. If that was the case then Columbus would have never discovered America. The world is flat after all, that’s just the way it is. The Wright brothers would have never flew because people can’t fly. We would have never landed on the moon, etc. Because of the universal power of thought, someone thought it could be done and succeeded.

Thought alone isn’t the answer. I have often heard “you become what you think about most.” If that’s the case then why haven’t more people achieved success?

In the movie The Secret they discuss the law of attraction at length. In one part they discussed when people dwell on debt or illness they always seemed to get more of the same. People that have achieved success discuss in the movie how when they concentrated their thoughts on success, success came their way. Many people that watched the movie came to the conclusion that all they had to do was concentrate on what they wanted and it would just happen.  Nothing happened for them so they threw out the law of attraction.

The law of attraction is one more powerful tool that can be used to achieve success. People failed to see in the movie that the law of attraction is not a lottery ticket for success. Instead it attracts circumstances to you that you have act upon which then brings the next circumstance.

I see this in my own home business. I talk to people all the time that need and want extra income in their lives. Some don’t believe it’s possible; they don’t believe they are worthy or only the lucky could reach those goals so they reject what I have to offer them. Others have a lottery mentality. They join expecting instant results. They never put in the necessary effort. Fail, quit and say it’s not possible, those things never work.  Yet it’s working for me and thousands of others.

So why do some people have success while others don’t?

When most people think of success they are thinking of material wealth. Haanel talks about how we utilize the law of attraction to manifest material things like wealth. We concentrate on wealth. Circumstances come along to get us there. We take action on those circumstances and finally achieve material wealth only to discover we’re not satisfied or we are only temporarily satisfied.

This is where I believe the power of creative thought comes in. We must use creative thought to define exactly what success means to us. We need to start with what do we really want? What we really want is happiness and harmony. If we are truly happy we can have everything the world has to offer. If we are truly happy we can make others happy.

Haanel says we cannot be happy unless we have health, strength, congenial friends, pleasant environment, and sufficient supply to take care of our own necessities and to provide for those comforts and luxuries that we are entitled to.

I now see how all the exercises we have been doing in this Master Keys course have all been created with this end point in mind. Our DMP helped us to determine what our own definition of happiness would be. All the exercises of been toning up the skills needed so we can better utilize, to maximize the way we use the universal power of thought.

Week 5 – Habit of Failure? I think not! – Post 284

This post is much longer than most of my posts on this blog or any of the others that I operate but I felt the need to get this off my chest. I apologize for the length but as everything else with this course so far I find it therapeutic to say what I have to say, get it out and behind me so I can move on.

I want to start off my post today with a paraphrase of something that Mark J. has said over and over in this course so far. If you do not intend to do a thing, do not start; if you do start, see it through even if the heavens fall . . . if we start something and do not complete it we are forming the habit of failure. It would be better to not have started it in the first place. That is such a profound statement and one that has troubled me this week as a face a serious struggle with my journey at this point. The deeper I dig into the Mastermind system the more I am being attacked by forces without to knock me off this course and it is increasingly difficult to set the sail and stay the course.

Let me back up a little bit and tell you a little about myself so you can understand where I am at this point in my life.

I have always been a very driven person. I always looked for a way to improve my circumstances and have always stepped up to the plate and done what it takes to achieve my goals. I never let outside forces turn me away from the end goal. As a teenager I had several friends that abused alcohol and they always tried to get me to join them in their drinking.  The more they pushed the more I resisted. The same thing with drugs, when the peer pressure became too strong I sought out new peers to associate with. I was determined not to go down that proverbial rabbit hole.

In my junior year of high school I became interested in marketing through a co-op program. I got a job in my senior year in a struggling upscale department store in a poor area of town. Of all things I was hired into the housewares dept. Fine china, crystal, small appliances, that sort of thing. Products that most 16 to 17 year old high school boys including myself never dealt with much less ever bought or sold.

I knew nothing but I took the skills I learned in class and created visually appealing displays, used lighting and mirrors to increase the sparkle and most importantly, I engaged the customers to find out what types of products they would like to buy to give as gifts for weddings and other special events and then went out of my way to be sure I had those things on hand even if I had to bypass the corporate types that wouldn’t send me those products because it didn’t fit their demographic data. Many times I had to get the products from other stores in our chain in the upscale neighborhoods to put them on my shelves. Within a year I had that department turning a profit, the only department in our entire store (other than shoes) that was in the black.

Once I graduated from high school I got a job at a fortune 100 company, AT&T. I was hired into the residential collections department where my job was to call residential customers and tell them that we were going to cut their phone service off if they didn’t pay their bills. I worked hard and quickly worked my way into the business marketing dept. I was being fast tracked into their management training program when a judge decided Ma Bell was too large and broke the company’s monopoly up. As a result I lost my first corporate job.

I bounced back quickly holding several other jobs of varying types in the marketing world until my wife and I had our first child. I began looking for something that would have a more steady income than what commissioned sales offered. I discovered an area of healthcare that sounded interesting. All the numbers pointed toward high income. Aging population, retirement of the current workforce, more females entering the workforce that only wanted part time employment to work around family obligations, these all pointed to a major shortage in full time workers to meet the demand.

The only big obstacle was the college degree. There were 400 to 500 people applying for less than 100 seats in the professional degree program. You had to complete 2 years of college, score high on an entrance exam and maintain a higher than average GPA to even be considered. There were no guarantees that I would get in after spending 2 years of time and money on the prep work but I took the chance. I worked full time, went to school full time and still managed to get into the program.

I graduated from that program in 1995 and have experienced an unbelievable income, much more than I ever anticipated when I started that journey. I found that I was not happy in the healthcare field. I worked 12 hour days with no breaks or lunch. As a management employee I put in 50, 60, sometimes as much as 80 hours per week to help keep stores open when there wasn’t enough of us to fill all the spots. I wasn’t happy or fulfilled but I continued to do that work because there was nowhere else that I was going to make the income I was making.

Then in 2011 everything changed. A couple weeks before Christmas someone from our corporate headquarters came in and told me that my services where no longer needed. At 50 years old I found myself unemployed and things where about to get worse. You see the major shortage in my field had suddenly become an overabundance of us. More and more Universities started offering the degree and the existing ones doubled their class sizes. Moreover the new graduates where coming out with Doctorate degrees and nearly two hundred grand in debt and willing to work for any amount of money. At the peak of my career I earned nearly two hundred thousand a year and now these new graduates where being hired in at a fraction of that. The real shocker wasn’t the major difference in income however. The real shocker for me is I suddenly found myself unemployable. No one would even consider me for employment with only a bachelor’s degree when there are so many candidates coming out of school with doctorate degrees and even residencies on top of that.

It took me two years to find another position in my field. Two years out of work messes with your psyche. As I discovered through this Master Key course, I once was a magnetic person. I could do anything I put my mind to. Even through the two years off work I pushed very hard to maintain that
magnetism.

A year ago I landed a new job. I also started my network marketing career. Actually started isn’t the right word since I had already been involved in 14 companies and failed. I guess the right word is I finally started taking it seriously. For the first time I actually built the business up to making profit and finally having belief that network marketing really was the answer for me. I built the business up to the point that I was able to save enough to replace my car and make some significant headway on getting us back on track after two years out of work.

As fast as I was building up my business however I was losing people. My business was not duplicating. If I had to work extra hours on my job I would notice that my sales volume dropped in the same periods. I have never had any help, never really had an up-line sponsor take me by the hand and teach me what to do. I felt alone, much like what Mark J expressed in his own life experiences.

I know that network marketing is the answer for me. I know that I can never trust corporate America for a living again. It can be taken away in an instant. Besides network marketing is more in line with what I have always known. It’s what I want to succeed at more than anything I have ever attempted in my life. When I started having setbacks I began to notice that I was also losing a lot of what I thought was self-esteem, what Mark J called magnetism. My last hope.

I know to succeed I need two things. I need to work on myself and I need someone to teach me what to, as Mark says, what to say and what to do. So a few months ago when I learned about Mark and Davene I knew right away that I needed this MKMMA program to get my mind back where it used to be. I also knew I needed the Go90Grow program so I can finally gain the skills to build a duplicating organization.

When I applied to master key and got it I was ecstatic and so far the course has been everything I had hoped for and likewise I have been looking forward to the Go90Grow to finally learn the skills that I need to make network marketing work. The skills that will get me completely away from my JOB before October 2017 as stated in my DMP.

I am now facing a major dilemma. I am determined not to give up because I am going to overcome the habit of loss that I have been working from these last few years. The dilemma I am facing is since I started this course is my finances have been under attack by Murphy. All the income we have managed to save for emergencies this past year has been completely wiped out. As it stands today I don’t currently have the funds for the go90grow course before it sells out. Not only that but I don’t currently have the funds to continue the MKMMA program either.

Now I am not and have never been a pessimistic person. I wholeheartedly believe in the law of attraction and have had it work for me many times in the past. I have always looked at the bright side of every situation and I know that everything will work out in the end. The law will bring to me what I need and in due time.

I will not quit this course. I am going to do every assignment that has been given this week as suggested. I am not going to operate form the habit of failure. I am not going to quit. This MKMMA program and the Go90Grow program may be taken from me and if so, so be it but I am not quitting and I am no longer operating from a quitter mentality. If I have too I will take what I learned so far and continue on my own studying the remainder of the books without the benefit of this forum and I will continue on my own attempting to learn everything I can about network marketing as well. I will not quit. I will not ad that habit to the other bad habits in my life.

Hi, my name is Bob Doyle, and I’m the CEO and founder of Boundless Living, and the facilitator of the Wealth Beyond Reason program. Over the next few minutes, I’ll be sharing with you the principles that we teach in our program as they apply to Network Marketing. Understanding and utilizing these principles will give you a very definite advantage when it comes to attracting the perfect customers and/or distributors to grow your business – AND have fun doing it.
There’s no doubt that network marketing can be a very exciting and very lucrative way to generate income, while growing your own business, and being your OWN boss. Done correctly, you are able to work your own hours and virtually decide your own salary based on just how much energy you wish to put into your endeavors.
However, network marketing is not without its significant challenges. It’s no secret that there are some rather negative connotations with network marketing that make your job as a distributor and a recruiter all that more challenging. We all hear about how people start to run away from you when they know you’re going to try to sell them your stuff, or get you to join their downline. It’s almost a running joke about how friends and family will start to avoid you because they know you’re likely to launch into your presentation.
Ideally, this business should not feel like selling. It shouldn’t feel like you’re trying to convince people of anything. You shouldn’t dread approaching people. There shouldn’t be fear or worry about making the next sale.
Unfortunately, all too often people have a “do or die” attitude with their network marketing business. Many times, they are depending on the promise of huge residual income to the point where they feel nearly desperate to make sales and build a large organization. Yet, they find that when they start sharing their products or opportunity, no one seems to be interested, even though you’re saying “all the right things”, and seem to be displaying enthusiasm.
It absolutely doesn’t have to be this way, and it absolutely should NOT be this way.
There are very specific reasons these types of things occur, and some of those reasons are not so obvious. When you can begin to get an understanding of what’s going on at an unseen level, you can begin to make adjustments to who you are that will communicate so much differently to those you talk to. So I mentioned understanding things on an unseen level…and that is the heart of what I’m here to talk with you about.
Because you see there is a LOT going on that you don’t see – that isn’t tangible. There are Universal Laws at work in your life at all times that affect your experience, and those most definitely includes your experience with your network marketing business.

Now if these concepts are new to you, you might be tempted to dismiss them completely, but I urge you to keep listening, and give yourself the absolute gift of understanding them. Because whether or not you believe anything I say here is irrelevant. These laws ARE at work in your life, and they WILL determine your level of success.

The principle I want to give you an understanding of with regards to success in Network Marketing, and indeed ANY area of your life, is the Law of Attraction. To understand how the Law of Attraction works, you need to have a basic understanding of some of the physics of this Universe of which we are all a part. Primarily, that broken down, everything – seen and unseen – is Energy…and invisible Energy at that. Human beings have this incredible ability to interpret much of this energy as physical matter…as solid objects. Or to be able to interpret some of this energy as sound, or taste, or to experience this Energy as thoughts, ideas, and emotions. This is the experience of being human. And with this experience, we’ve been given an incredible ability – and that is to literally shape every aspect of our existence in accordance with our desires.

That is to say that we can literally be, do, or have anything we can imagine.

However to do that, it helps to understand HOW we attract those things into our experience. When you understand this, you’ll quickly be able to see what you need to be doing in order to make your network marketing business one exciting success after another WITHOUT all the all-too-familiar negative experiences sometimes associated with network – or referral marketing.

First, I’m just going to give you a quick definition of the Law of Attraction, and then through examples, I’m going to unfold how it works in the life of a Network Marketer. If you can understand that we are all Energy, and that Energy vibrates at various frequencies, you’re ready to understand that the Law of Attraction states that we attract into our experience that with which we are in vibrational resonance. In other words, if we’re putting out a vibration of worry or fear, we’ll attract into our experience MORE things to worry about or be afraid of. Conversely, if we are putting out a predominant vibration of abundance and joy, we’ll attract more experiences that perpetuate those feelings.
Now, as I said, that’s a quick definition, and there are several nuances to that because what we THINK we’re vibrating – or putting out to the Universe – is very often very different than what’s ACTUALLY going out there – and we’ll talk about that shortly.
So how to we adjust our predominant frequency? How do we determine what we’re putting out there? Without getting into mind-boggling science, I’ll simply short-cut the explanation by telling you that it’s our EMOTIONS that determine, and at the same time TELL US, what we’re attracting. If you want to know what you’re currently attracting into your experience, check in with how you feel. Now again, there are conscious feelings, and there are feelings and beliefs that are going on at a subsconcious level as well – and very often it’s the unconscious feelings that are dominating what you’re actually putting out there at a level of Energy, and thus attracting.
So while you may truly be excited about your product or opportunity, and go out into the world all “on fire” on a conscious level, you may actually still have some beliefs that this is all “too good to be true”, that this will “never work for you”, or that “nobody is going to buy from me”, or other similar beliefs. Or perhaps you have that desperate “do or die” thing going on. That emits a very specific vibration as well.
Given that these underlying beliefs were generally instilled in you at a very early age, they have a very powerful influence over what’s possible for you, even if you are consciously very excited and enthusiastic about what you’re sharing with people. And this leads me to point out another very common phenomenon in network marketing. Very often new distributors are so captivated by the potential of large commissions and residual income for life, that they talk themselves into consciously believing in the product and opportunity more than they actually do. In other words, the WANT to believe it, so they act as if they do…and really believe that they do, but only at a surface level. If they were truly honest with themselves, they could see that there was still doubt there.
The problem is that we as human beings absolutely DO communicate on unspoken levels, and that’s not just through our body language, but through completely unseen ways. We just “know” when someone isn’t being 100% forthright with us. Or in the case of network marketing, we can just somehow see through the surface enthusiasm and know that this person just wants a sale, or wants to recruit us, and may even be desperate to do so. And given that no potential recruit want to see themselves in that position, they’ll most likely NOT join your organization because they don’t want to occur to others they way that you’re occurring to them.
The ONLY way to NOT communicate those unseen messages is for them to NOT be there in the first place. In other words, your vibration has to be pure.
Believe me, I’ve had my share of experience in the industry – I noticed something about the most successful people in the organization.
…or I should say the successful people that I would want to emulate, as there are clearly those in such organization that might make a lot of money, but in NO way personify the type of person I would want to be.
The people who did well never EVER came across as salesly or hypey…even though they might be saying the exact same words, giving the exact same presentation, as those who could not make a sale. And by the way, I fell in to the latter category. I was involved in Network Marketing years before I knew anything about the Law of Attraction, and I was most definitely in a “do or die” situation. Outside I felt like I was sounding oh-so smooth, presenting a compensation plan that no one in their right mind could possible refuse…but inside I was petrified, I didn’t believe these people were going to go for it, and I also knew in the case of my friends and family that they were seeing a version of me that was completely incongruent with who they knew me to be. You need to hear that.
If you go from being one way with your sphere of influence to someone who has suddenly become inexplicably “all about” this new product and opportunity, it’s just too much of a shift for people who know you. Your predominant vibration – the one they are used to experiencing (on a subconscious level of course) has suddenly gone into what is occurring to them as chaos, and it literally repels them. And when I say repel, I’m talking about at a scientific level of Energy here. Your energy just is NOT meshing with theirs as they are used to, and there is a ton of resistance between you now.
In those situations, you’re only likely to get the sale if the person is doing it to do you a favor…and if you’re selling a consumable product, they may order a few months, and then after they feel like they’ve done what they can for you, they’ll stop.
A common example used in the network marketing circles is sharing a movie you like.
Sharing your product or opportunity should feel just as natural. When you’ve seen a movie that you feel someone would like, you don’t pull out a sheet showing the box office results from the first two weeks, or extolling the accolades of the various actors to convince them that the movie deserves your attention. No, instead you say just a sentence or two, in full integrity, about how you experienced the movie. That’s all you have to do.
If the person is inclined to see it – if they are in vibrational resonance with it – then they’ll see. If they aren’t, they won’t. It’s nothing about YOU (and so many network marketers make a “no” all about themselves because they work so HARD to give the presentation and then are rejected).
So what do you do?
Well, the most important thing is that you’ve started your networking business for the right reasons. And how will you know this? Well, first, the product or service you’re promoting should be completely in alignment with your purpose and/or passions. Sharing this product should be something that you would do if you made not one penny from doing it. If your product doesn’t fit that bill, it’s going to be more of a struggle for you than it should be.
Let’s take the Nutritional supplement industry for example. The people who do extremely well in that industry are people who’s lives were changed as a result of using the product themselves.
And I’m talking about REALLY changed. Not just “well, after 3 days I saw I had more Energy”. While that may be true, that’s often not enough to persuade someone to purchase something that they feel they can buy over the counter for significantly less money. Of course if you were talking to someone with chronic fatigue syndrome, the “more energy” results could do the trick.
You probably hear it all the time: “Be a product of the product”. And that’s true. Because when you are TRULY a product of the product, then your enthusiasm is totally genuine and not hype. But most importantly, your vibration is pure. It’s not cluttered with concern over whether the prospect believes you or not – because you’re 100% clear how incredible this product is – not because the organization has shared dozens of stories with you, but because YOU ARE LIVING PROOF.
I know that the mantra in network marketing is “talk to people”, and if that doesn’t work, “talk to more people”. For the most part, it’s presented as a numbers game. And for those who don’t understand how the Law of Attraction is at work, that is most likely true.
You’re going to have to go through a lot of no’s to get the number of yes’s you want. But most people don’t have the skin for that…and it’s not fun to hear a lot of no’s…and after a while it’s easy to get discouraged and quit, particularly if you’ve been ostracized by friends and family due to an overzealous approach.
So the key is to attract the PERFECT prospects for the product and the PERFECT prospects for the opportunity, and not to worry about the rest. You should never EVER find yourself in the situation of trying to convince someone that they “should” try your product, or they “SHOULD” join your organization. If they’re not in vibrational resonance with either of those things, YOU can’t change that. You can only continue to be true to YOUR purpose and passions within the organization so that you can attract a tremendous amount of success – because your success is what’s going to do the best job of selling your wares…not your ability to give a slick presentation.
Ok, so HOW do you turn on that magnet to the perfect people? Obviously that’s what you want to know, right? How can you make building your business effortless and fun?
Well, first we have to make sure of a few things:
  1. That you’re in the right business. DOES this product or service call to you, or are you chasing dollars only? Be honest with yourself. Does this opportunity allow you to express who you are and what you’re here to do?
  2. WOULD you share the product with people even if money wasn’t involved…or if someone ELSE got the money as a result? If you can honestly answer yes to this, then you’ve demonstrated detachment – which is a key principle in working with the Law of Attraction. Detachment comes from a knowing that your ultimate vision will be realized, and that you needn’t understand the particulars of how that’s going to occur.
  3. Do you, in fact, HAVE a vision? Why are you in this business? What do you want your life to be as a result? Simply saying, “to make good money sharing a good product” is rarely enough. You need to have a vision for your life. Most importantly, how do you want to FEEL as a result of success with this company.Remember that it’s our feelings that determine what we attract, so our ultimate goal is to be clear on precisely how we want to feel, then generate the feelings as much as possible so that we stay in that state of attraction until we realize whatever goal or desire we have our attention on. We’ll talk more about specifically how to do this.
  4. You never want to compare your success or results with others. You are on YOUR path. You will progress with YOUR level of efficiency. YES, you can learn from others and be inspired by their successes, but you should never envy their successes, because this only perpetuates a vibration that you “don’t have”.
Throughout this process, it’s going to be important to keep our eyes in the prize, and our thoughts and feelings on where we want them to be as opposed to where we don’t want them to be. That is, we should approach each day with the feeling of living into our vision of success, rather than one of trying to escape a situation we don’t like. For example if you’re struggling for money, and see this opportunity as a way to end that struggle, then keep your focus on what it will look and feel like to have no struggle, instead of the struggle itself. If you constantly remind yourself of how bad things are and how much they need to change, you are simply perpetuating the vibration of all those things you don’t like…and thus will continue to attract more of those things.
The Universe is completely neutral. It’s simply responding to your vibration. You decide the good and bad. You’re free to interpret every situation that occurs in your life however you’d like. That’s important to know as you move forward because things may occur in your day to day that you have historically interpreted as “bad” things, and thus you choose to have your emotions affected negatively (although admittedly, it doesn’t feel like a choice in the moment). When you allow your emotion to shift in that negative way, you shift your vibration accordingly, and become a magnet to more things that will perpetuate whatever experience you are having. This is why bad days tend to stay that way or get worse. And, by the way, it’s why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
They have vibrational momentum going and unless something changes it, the Universe will respond in kind.
So assuming that you’re clear that you are on the right track in terms of your chose opportunity, let’s talk about specific ways to adjust what you’re putting out there to the Universe so that you can define how you experience this business.
First, you’ll need to create some parameters for your vision. You’ll want to write down everything you want your day to day business to look and FEEL like. When do you wake up? Do you get right to work, or do you enjoy a nice walk and a cup of coffee first. Keep in mind that there are no right or wrong ways to define your vision. It’s totally up to YOU and what lights YOU up. The idea is to make this vision so completely compelling that you would never in a million years allow yourself to give it up.
Create fun scenarios where you are sharing your product with people who can’t WAIT to hear all about it. Imagine what it would feel like to be told DAILY that you are an answer to their prayers…that you couldn’t answer their questions quickly enough…and that they’re all but begging you for distributor information. Write these scenarios down as if you were writing a script for a film…then run that film in your imagination over and over as if you were sitting right there in it, experiencing it. You want to literally FEEL the experience happening on as many sensory levels as possible.
Imagine the feeling at being at a company meeting surrounded by dozens of highly successful distributors that you found with seemingly no effort, all of whom are experiencing changed lives because of the gift of this product, this opportunity, and having YOU as their upline!
Then create a vision of the FREEDOM you have created for yourself. Imagine the vacations, the homes, the cars (if those are things that appeal to you of course It is when you are in this state that the appropriate magnet is on. I say “appropriate” because it’s important to realize that the magnet is ALWAYS on. You’re ALWAYS attracting, and if you’re not attracting what you truly want, then you’re attracting something else.
Don’t worry about HOW you achieve these things, or how HARD you had to work, or how many distributors you had to recruit or ANY of that stuff! Because the Universe handles the details. You maintain your vibration of HAVING, and the Universe, through the Law of Attraction will deliver it to you.
This doesn’t mean you will not take action. You will. But that action will be INSPIRED – fueled by intuitive nudging to go here, call that person, try this or that in a presentation, and so on – and it will all feel effortless.
Granted, shifting your predominant mindset from one of worry and fear to one of perpetual excited vision can take time – and depending on your background, you might experience a significant amount of what we call “resistance” – which is just another system of energy that is vibrating at a frequency that is NOT in resonance with what you’re consciously wanting to attract. This resistance is often the Ego trying to maintain control of the status quo, or old limiting beliefs that are deeply embedded into your subconscious.
But the more time you spend living your vision in your minds eye, or on paper, or even through things like creating collages of pictures of things you’d like to be a part of your future such as homes, cars, and furniture, the more your predominant vibration begins to shift toward being in resonance with HAVING those things. The key is to be persistent, and to understand fully that the Law of Attraction is not just some new-agey pie-in-the-sky theory, but science…and it’s a science that’s relatively easy to understand, albeit sometimes more challenging to implement right away based on your life experience and past beliefs.
Now, I know that things like goal setting, visualization, and affirmations are nothing new…and it may sound like that’s what I’ve described. However, there is MORE to it than that. Many people have tried goal setting and not reached their goals – done visualization but not ever experienced the reality of it, and stated affirmations that they did not believe on any level.
The difference here is that now you have a deeper level understanding of why these things work or don’t work. They WORK when you use them as tools to bring yourself into vibrational resonance with what you’re going for. They DON’T work, if you’re just going through the motions, without the E-motion that gets that predominant frequency moving in the right direction. THAT is the key distinctions. That’s why those techniques work for some, but not for others. Some people naturally get into a high emotional state while doing them, and other don’t. Some people have less resistance than others. But there is NO ONE that is immune from the Law of Attraction. There is no one that this CAN’T work for, and there is no one that cannot experience unreasonable levels of success in their endeavors of purpose and passion.
And the process above is just one of countless ways to become in resonance with what you desire…and of course the power of the Law of Attraction extends far beyond the boundaries of Network Marketing, and touches every aspect of your life, both personal and professional.
Remember that not everyone who has wild success and happiness in their life is consciously utilizing these principles. They simply naturally have less resistance, or whatever they’re doing is so in line with who they are that they are just naturally in the flow. They naturally attract success effortlessly. And all of us have the same ability, though not the same background, so learning about what’s really going on out there can prove to level the playing ground and give everyone an opportunity to experience Wealth Beyond Reason!
